Data retention
We retain your information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, comply with our legal and regulatory obligations (including TDLR record-keeping requirements), resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
Student records, course progress, certificate data, and payment records may be retained indefinitely to comply with regulatory requirements and to ensure continued access to certificates and course records.
Even if you request account deletion, we reserve the right to retain any information that we are required or permitted to keep by applicable law or regulation.
We may de-identify or anonymize your information such that it can no longer reasonably be used to identify you. Once information has been de-identified or anonymized, it is no longer considered personal information, and we may use, disclose, and retain such de-identified information for any lawful purpose without restriction. Children’s privacy
Our course serves students aged 14 and older, including minors. The parent-taught driver education model requires a parent or legal guardian to enroll the student, serve as the designated instructor, and oversee all course participation. Enrollment of a minor by a parent or legal guardian constitutes verifiable parental consent for the collection and use of the minor's information as described in this policy.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 14 without parental consent. If we become aware that we have collected information from a child under 14 without appropriate consent, we will take steps to delete that information.
Your rights
You may contact us to request access to the personal information we hold about you or to request correction of inaccurate information. Requests for data deletion are subject to our legal and regulatory obligations, including TDLR record-keeping requirements, and we may retain information as permitted or required by law.
We will respond to verifiable requests within a reasonable timeframe. We reserve the right to verify your identity before processing any request and to deny requests that are unreasonable, excessive, or not required by applicable law.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, ParentTaught.com and its owners, officers, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to the collection, use, disclosure, or loss of your personal information, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
